 A family with over a decade of experience welcomes travelers in this Art Deco building - ideal casa for a family or two couples of friends. Although located at limits of Centro, it's really in Vedado. Lourdes is retired from a career in Biology; she graduated in foreign languages (English and French). |
Carlos is a mechanical Engineer and still active. Their two daughters are University graduates fluent in Ingles and Frances who live close by and actively assist in aiding casa guests.
The familia's apartment has a large living room with balcony overlooking Infanta, a dining room, kitchen for the use of customers with its access to side patio and laundry area. The first bedroom has two double beds, commode and mirror, fan, aircon, fridge; max 4 guests; safety box; outdoor terrace with sea view. The other has a double bed and a sofa bed, closet, ventilation, fridge, aircon; its window is covered to allow for the aircon unit (photo at left); max 3 guests; safety box; outdoor covered terrace with sea view. Both bedrooms share the original bathroom of the apartment, perfectly located between. Rates : 35cuc per bedroom per night for 1 or 2 guests, +5cuc per addtnl guest, max 4 adults; discounts for regular customers or families; breakfasts, 5cuc; dinners 7-10cuc. |

Lourdes reads and writes English and Français fluently. In her own words, she introduced the casa :
"I introduce myself as Mrs. Lourdes Cervantes. I am a former biologist, now retired. I live in Havana city, Cuba where I rent two rooms at Calle Infanta No. 17 apartment 10 between 23 Avenue and Humboldt, between Vedado and Centro Habana. I started renting officially in 2003, so I have some experience in this area of expertise. I also speak fluently French and I have met a lot of Canadians who became friends of the family, either staying in my house several times or recommending me to their friends and relatives. As other references I am included in the Guide du Routard (since 2011) and Lonely Planet (since 2012)." |
