"While visiting Cuba, we stayed at 1airbnb 4casa and this hostel, all in the same price segment. This had clearly the highest standard, nice and quiet air-conditioned bedroom with good breakfast menu and a nice backyard. The hostel is in walking distance of the bus terminal. The staff is wonderful and helpful. Thank you for a great breakfast every day, even the day we had to leave early in the morning. The city has a local feel and the streets are much cleaner than in Havana. If you are good at negotiations, a one-way trip from Havana to Pinar should cost you no more than 5cuc. Bus is 12cuc. And if you get fooled by some English-speaking Cubanos, the price for a taxi can be 25cuc per person. Official (yellow) taxis are always more expensive. In Pinar there are also nice restaurants where dinner costs only 2cuc. Salad, rice and beans, and big piece of chicken or pork.
