In this the second of the aristocratic family casas (the other being La Casona Cueto, Noly's sister and mother's house) - this has to be another of these colonial gems the town is building a reputation on. From the baby grand piano in the huge, museum-like living room to the large dining room opening to a jungled patio with lots of sun and shade, chairs, tables and rockers and a large fish pond. There's space and light for the home's three labradors and proof that Noly (a pro photog) and Amarelys (a certified nurse) have a great eye for decoration. The air-conditioned and ventilated bedrooms each have an ensuite, originally-designed bathroom. The first, opening onto the dining room has one double bed, the second has two doubles and the third, three doubles, each ensuite with hairdryer; two more bedrooms have been made available recently, one by the entrance dining room, the other up a mezzanine - photos at bottom of page. Rates : 25cuc per bedroom per night, 35 if three sharing. All three meals served. As private restaurant (paladar) permit holder, Manuel and Amarelys offer lovely dining experiences in their patio where they or their staff prepare lunches and dinners to travellers. |
